The CIP Photographic Fund

The CIP Photographic Fund houses original and historically valuable works by photojournalists around the world. The database provides online access to images and other documents deposited in this collection (publications, synopses, etc.), as well as to exhibitions created by the Centre, to slide shows presented at Visa pour l'Image screening evenings and to multimedia documents collected and/or produced within the framework of the Festival.

Why and how to entrust works to the CIP?

The non-commercial approach of the International Photojournalism Center aims to create a unique international collection of documentary resources on photojournalism and its history.

The CIP enhances and distributes the photographs it holds with the greatest respect for the rights of authors or their beneficiaries, in particular through the production of exhibitions, books or audiovisual products, as well as the creation and sale of certified prints and derivative products.

Any use of photographs is subject to a request for prior authorization.

1 – The CIP database is accessible to everyone, researchers, students, photography and history enthusiasts.

2 – The photographic backgrounds are kept in appropriate conditions for the preservation of negatives and slides.

Photojournalists wishing to entrust their work or their funds must contact the IPC. Their proposal is submitted to a selection committee.

If accepted, the photographer must provide his or her reports accompanied by:

  • A presentation text and photo captions.

  • Magazine or publishing publications.

  • Videos relating to the report or the photographer

  • Links to sources.

  • From a biography.
